Second Feat.

I posted about my first feat last week.

This week, my second feat. I finished applying to my first choice graduate program! Feels good to be done with an application.

(Clearly that is an exact replica of me pouring over my application. And my cute friend?)

I applied and was accepted to two graduate programs last year…but I decided not to go.

It was REALLY hard to make that decision, but I had to go with my gut instinct. It’s a scary feeling to do that – especially for someone who likes to be “practical” like myself. You know, making lists, pro-con, logical steps, etc. I spent a good 3-4 months after that questioning myself, what I had decided and if I had made “The Right Choice.”

Now I can see that my life has been enriched in so many ways because of that decision and I feel even stronger about my plans for the future.

Have you ever had to trust your gut to make a decision? Did it “work out” for you?

Hindsight is definitely 20/20, so give me some of yours! :)

  1. GOOD FOR YOU.

I simply cannot comprehend upper education and it’s processess. My Teenager is graduating HS a year early and is starting the college process. It baffles me!

I have learned to always trust my GUT feelings and I have had to make some HARD and lasting choices by only using my instinct.

it is hard but I don’t think it lets you down.

    xo

That’s great! Good for you for holding out for your first choice!

  3. I just saw your tweet – and I agree, you are hilarious! But I also think you have a great perspective and attitude, and I’ve loved reading your posts!

  4. Congratulations!! Getting apps done for grad school definitely IS a feat (I hated doing them). I actually trusted my gut when I made the decision to come to Brown. I made the mistake (sort of) of applying to too many schools…and then got into most of them. So the decision about where to go was super tough! I ended up just going by the feeling I got when I visited the programs (and the offer for scholarship money helped a little bit too…haha).

Good luck with the process! It’s very exciting!

  5. Good for you!! Education is the only thing no one can ever take away from you.

  6. Congratulations to you on completing your application :)

I am a big fan of going with your gut/heart because sometimes, only YOU know what is best!

Oh my gosh, I think following my gut is the story of my life. Of course, I can’t help but think of the High Fidelity quote, “I’ve come to the conclusion that my gut has shit for brains…”
